What you as an e-shopper must comply with according to GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation)
This regulation applies to most common products sold to end customers (B2C), including those that consumers can use even if they are not primarily intended for them.
Obligations that apply to you:
- Indicate on the e-shop for each product:
- Name/title of the manufacturer and his contact details (postal and email address)
- Data on the importer or responsible person (if the goods are outside the EU)
- Product identification (e.g. type, series, batch number)
- Safety warnings and instructions (not to be confused with the user manual)
- Ensure product safety:
- Verify that the product is safe for users
- Check labeling and documentation
- Respond to feedback and potential risks
- Cooperate with authorities:
- If necessary, withdraw a dangerous product from sale
- Inform customers about the risks
Additional information:
- The obligations apply in the language of the market where the e-shop operates (e.g. Czech for the Czech Republic, Slovak for the Slovak Republic)
- You also become a manufacturer if you sell a product under your own brand
If you are dealing with GPSR in Prestashop, our module will help you, which allows you to display mandatory information in the form of a tab on the product page.
